Not What He Seems (Admirable Animation)

These are just some of my spoiler-y thoughts on the episode. But first, if you haven't seen any other episode of the show then DON'T WATCH THIS! You have to have seen at least these 10 episodes (in said order):

SPOILERS:
Ok good. Now I can say stuff I want. Like...HOLY CRAP! The Stanley theory was true! That reveal at the end was absolutely perfect. The music, tone, dialogue, and mmmmmm..... Also, That one part where Dipper and Mabel see the "STAN PINES DEAD" article, I nearly lost it. Not only is that really dark and uncomfortable (not to mention the description was unsettling) but they're reactions were simply as perfectly real as possible. And that scene with Stan in the government interrogation room was extremely badass and showed off Stan's quick wit. And when it didn't feel right to see all the main characters to basically turn on each other. Especially during that climax. That climax was masterful. Seeing both Dipper and Soos fight Stan was a testement of "This ain't playtime, motherfucker." Mabel had a fantastic part at the end (and a lot of that to her VA, Kristen Schaal). Seeing her cry was really emotional, and I loved that part at the end of Stan's speech where the music stops dead and Mabel says "...I trust you." Boom. A huge explosion and a mysterious figure comes out of the portal. He puts his six fingered hand on Journal 1, and puts it in his coat pocket. Where Stan reveals "It's the author of the journals... My brother." The figure removes his mask to reveal a man that looks similar to Stan. Episode ends on the fans' reaction and a simple end credits scene of the young brothers on the swingset near the sea. Just...perfection this episode couldn't have been done better. I don't know what will happen next but I know one thing's for sure. It won't ever be the same again.
